Vintage Sewing Machines

Pink Atlas

For clue 2, I have switched to a 1951 Singer 301a. I got this machine off Craigslist and drove over a hundred miles because I wanted a black long bed. It's a combo of  different machines, the bed,  bobbin setup, needle position and threading  is like a 221, but it's a slant shank machine like the 400's, 500's and 600's. The finish isn't perfect, it has small chips in it from previous owners, is the most I have paid for a vintage machine, but it sews great and I love it.

The machine I'm using for the first clue is a 1951 Centennial Singer 66.
I got this machine from Goodwill for $14.00. It was very dirty, the motor was struggling, it didn't have a cover and the bottom was falling apart. I wanted it for the foot pedal and the vintage 66 bobbins, but after hauling it home, I couldn't help myself, I had to fix it. So after cleaning, oiling, fixing the base and putting the belt on right, it purrs.
